| Yesterday, Sunday 30th October, we witnessed the fiesta de la trashumancia, an old celebration and defense of grazing and migration rights threatened by man made frontiers. Essentially, it is over 3,000 sheep and 60 cattle being guided right through the centre of Madrid. The route started at 10 am at casa de campo, and works its way through puerta de sol and calle mayor, which would be the equivalent of seeing thousands of sheep run through piccadilly circus. |

| Following the trail of the animals. One thing that did surprise me was how punctual they were for a flock of sheep. They were expected at plaza de cibeles at 12.00. We arrived there no more than 5-10 minutes late and the little bastards were already way ahead! I think the build up highered our expectations, with the presence of policemen on horses, bikes and in helicopters. I´m not quite sure what we were expecting, but at least we saw it. |
